Solar and Battery-Less Devices

Batteries Die! The battery in any battery-operated device will eventually die and you won't know it until you need it most; like the flashlight sitting, unused, in the car glove box for "emergency" use. Has there been a time when you needed a flashlight only to find the batteries were dead? Then there's the damage caused by leaking batteries. . .

Using products that don't rely on batteries alone helps insure that the device will function when needed. Though they usually will contain rechargeable batteries, they may still be able to function, by some other backup method, even if the rechargeable batteries die.

Solar power provides cleaner, more sustainable electricity, but few people can afford to mount solar panels on their houses, and few power providers have invested significantly in solar power generation. It's time to take solar power into your own hands. These devices won't let you take your house off the grid, but they will help reduce your power bill, reduce reliance on fossil fuels and reduce the cost of replacing batteries.

There are many variations (models and prices) of the same product concept out there so the list below are some Solar and Battery-Less Device examples of what is available.
